Meridian International was established to address a specific gap in the market for professional sourcing and procurement advisory services between China and international buyers.
Businesses engaging with China for procurement face a market that is structurally difficult to navigate from the outside. China's internal commercial systems, supplier networks, verification processes, and trade documentation requirements operate differently from those in Western markets. Managing these without professional support from within that environment carries real risk — in supplier quality, contract terms, compliance exposure, and cost.
The options available to most businesses are limited. Large sourcing companies serve volume clients. Freight forwarders manage logistics, not procurement decisions. Informal contacts operate without professional accountability. The result is that businesses either absorb the complexity themselves or proceed without adequate advisory support.
Meridian provides structured professional advisory services, engaged as a single service or across the full procurement process — from initial supplier identification through to contract review, trade compliance, and inspection coordination. The firm operates from Hong Kong with access to Pearl River Delta supplier networks and direct familiarity with how procurement and manufacturing operate within China's commercial environment.
Every engagement is handled personally by the founder. Clients deal directly with Meridian — not with a junior team or account management layer.
George Skordi holds an LLB and LLM. He is not an admitted or practising solicitor, barrister, lawyer, or attorney in any jurisdiction. His legal training informs Meridian's approach to contractual rigour, documentation, and supplier assessment, applied in a commercial rather than legal-advisory capacity.
The firm is at an early stage of development. Meridian does not claim a transaction history it does not have. What it offers is a professionally structured advisory service, documented methodology, and a founder with the qualifications and background to manage a China procurement requirement with precision and accountability.
Many engagements begin with a single service and continue as an ongoing relationship as trust and familiarity with a client's sourcing needs are established.
